Nested in North-West Wales and a firm favourite with the PAU team and family, Dolgellau is home to some of our favourite trails, and two of our holiday stays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scenery is like you wouldn\u2019t believe, and we\u2019re blessed to be surrounded by some of the best trails over there, but more on those in a moment. We\u2019re going to run you through our favourite things to do around Dolgellau… Places to run, to ride, top beaches and favourite places to stop for a bite, so you can plan your next adventure. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Trails Around Dolgellau<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s start at the beginning, the juicy stuff – the trails. There are so many to choose from but a few favourites are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mawddach Trail<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

23K if you go the whole hog but it\u2019s the kind you turn around on and come back on yourself (read: not circular). Ride it, run it, or walk it, it\u2019s largely flat as a trail and you will love every part of it – it\u2019s a popular one, though!<\/p>\n\n\n

Penmaenpool Circular<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lovely little 11K walk with stunning views and plenty of good stuff to take in. Hike it, run it, walk it, it\u2019s just under 3.5 hours if you walk and has some nice elevation in there, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Llanberis and the Llyns<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

29 miles long and not for the beginners, this one is for the experienced and the hardcore cyclists looking for adventure and a challenge. We love the scenery and sights on this one, and it\u2019s more than deserving of some pub grub at the end.<\/p>\n\n\n

Cadair Idris<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It couldn\u2019t not get a mention, could it? A fine trail if ever we saw one, but make sure you have your gear and an idea of where you\u2019re going, but the views and the satisfaction will be worth it. It\u2019s a hard 10K, but a good 10K.<\/p>\n\n\n

Beaches near Dolgellau<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Barmouth, we\u2019re mentioning it again! Other beaches if you like that kind of thing are Harlech (with a golf club practically on the beach, and a top tier castle), and Fairbourne (with a big old stretch to walk along and a nice pub near the beach as well). But, don\u2019t be putting an electric bike on a beach and then coming to us – don\u2019t say we didn\u2019t warn you!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love this area so much that Paul Ball, founder of PAU, only went and bought a bridge. Yes, you read it right, we own and operate the Penmaenpool Toll Bridge<\/a>. It\u2019s a wooden grade two listed bridge and it is well worth a visit if you\u2019re in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n
