ABOUT BRYAN STEEL
Bryan Steel spent 18 years at the highest level of international cycling, becoming a key member of the British team pursuit squad and competing at four Olympic Games.
Bryan represented Great Britain at the 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in the team pursuit at Sydney 2000 before taking silver in the same event at Athens 2004.
His international career also included 14 World Championships and three Commonwealth Games, where he built an impressive collection of major championship medals. He won five World Championship medals between 1994 and 2004, alongside his two Olympic medals.
Away from the international stage, Bryan won the British National Madison Championship in 1994 with Rob Hayles and again in 1996 with Simon Lillistone. He also competed regularly on the road alongside his track career.
After retiring following the 2004 Athens Olympics, Bryan moved into motivational speaking and has continued to work with charities and sporting organisations.
