• Develop and implement a dynamic and inclusive coaching programme tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
  • Organise, facilitate and conduct regular coaching/training sessions focusing on skill development, performance, tactical understanding, and physical fitness that’s appropriate to the age level and individual needs of participants.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and team spirit.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of young athletes, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable individual goals.
  • Organise and oversee racing trips and events to provide practical experience and exposure.
  • Collaborate with other coaches, parents, and stakeholders to ensure the holistic development of each athlete.
  • Remain up to date with the latest coaching techniques, trends, and best practices to continually improve the programme.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by adhering to all relevant and statutory health and safety guidelines and safeguarding policies.
  • Relevant coaching qualifications (eg, Level 2 Coaching Certificate or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in coaching/training young athletes in [specific sport/activity].
  • Strong understanding of child development and the ability to adapt coaching methods to suit different age groups, experience and characters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated and proven ability to inspire, motivate, support and engage young people.
  • First Aid certification and a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required with extended periods away from base.
  • Experience in developing and growing a coaching programme from the ground up.
  • Knowledge of sports science principles and their application in youth and junior coaching.
  • Previous experience in organising and managing sports events and competitions.
