ABOUT MATT STEPHENS
From British National Road Race Champion and Olympian to one of the most recognisable voices in modern cycling, Matt Stephens has experienced the sport from almost every angle.
Matt Stephens represented Great Britain at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, before becoming British National Road Race Champion in 1998. He went on to race professionally until 2011, riding for teams including Harrods, the Linda McCartney Racing Team and Sigma Sport.
Alongside and after his racing career, Matt built a name in cycling media, working as a presenter and commentator across ITV4, Eurosport and Global Cycling Network. He was one of GCN’s original presenters before moving his focus towards live race commentary and events.
Today, Matt continues to bring his racing experience, knowledge and personality to cycling media, including his Café Ride series with Sigma Sports, where he sits down with some of the biggest names in the sport.

Every £15 ticket for this event goes directly to Project PAU, our free cycling academy for 13–18 year olds, giving young riders access to the knowledge, advice and inspiration they need to develop both on and off the bike.
From learning how to fuel for a race to understanding what it takes to train, prepare and perform, Project PAU gives young cyclists the tools to become more confident, capable and well rounded.
So come and spend an evening hearing stories from someone who has been at the highest level of the sport, and help us give the next generation the opportunity to find their own path in cycling.
